All Auditions will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

 

Audition Requirements

Undergraduate Audition Requirements for the Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion Area:

 All major scales two octaves, ascending and descending.

 Two selections of contrasting style (one lyrical, one technical). Music selections may either be selected from either the state solo and ensemble list, grade four or higher, All-State audition materials, or other appropriate musical selections.†

 Sight Reading

 Theory evaluation and placement exam.

 

Graduate Audition Requirements for the Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion Area:

 All major scales, ascending and descending.

 Two selections of contrasting style, (one lyrical, one technical). Contact the applied faculty member for appropriate repertoire selection.

 Sight Reading

 Theory evaluation and placement exam.

 History evaluation and placement exam.

Admission Information

Admission to the School of Music Consists of 2 parts:

†††††††††† 2. Admission by the School of Music

Admission by the University requires that students complete an application form and provide the necessary materials used to evaluate the studentís eligibility for admissions

Admission to the School of Music is by AUDITION and includes the submission of a school of music application form.

Both Application forms can be found under student resources and application materials at music.fiu.edu.†
